Age Limit For UPSC 2019 : General, OBC, SC/ST And Other Category

The maximum age criteria have been described below- 


  1. The aspirant who comes from SC or ST will be relieved by five years.
  2. It will require for the aspirant to accomplish 21 years of age. It also is necessary that they have not acquired the age of 32 before the August approaches.
  3. The maximum age limit for Other Backward categories will be equal to three years.
  4. The maximum age limit for those who have been the resident of Jammu and Kashmir from January 1980 to December 1989 will be equal to five years.
  5. The maximum age limit will be equal to three years for those who have resided as Defense Services Personnel, incapacitated when in action through hostilities in a foreign country or country in trouble.
  6. UPSC Age Limit other relaxations 


  • Aspirants who are from SC and ST and other Backward divisions and are enclosed under the section of Rule 2, those from the group- of Ex-Serviceman, the resident of J and K, blind, deaf, and mute will be endowed with age-moderation within both categories.
  • The word Ex-Serviceman will be applicable to those who are stated as Ex-Serviceman in the Ex-Serviceman (Re-employment in Civil Services and Posts, Rules, 1979 modified at times.
  • The age moderation under Law 6(b(v) and (vi) will not be acceptable to Ex=Serviceman and Commissioned officers incorporating ECOs/SSCOs, who are freed through their own application.
  • Nonetheless the facility of age moderation under Law 6, the disabled student will be eligible for selection in case they meet the physical and medical parameter in the related services that are given to the disabled student through the decision of the government.
  • The UPSC exam age limit given above by no means will be exempted from the set criteria.
