UPSC Requirement 2019: Age Limit, Qualification & Other Details

Upper Age Limit for UPSC 

Upper age limit is also considered on the Aug 1. This further indicates that student’s candidate taking part in the prelims will require being under the maximum limit by Aug 1. Upper age limit is not alike.

Upper age limit for General category 32 years.
Upper age limit for OBC 35 years.
Upper age limit for SC/ST 37 Years.
Upper age limit for Defense Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof  35 years.
Upper age limit for Ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service  37 years.
Upper age limit for blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons (general category): 42 years.

Number of Attempts for UPSC Civil Services Examination 

The number of times that the aspirants participate in any of the papers in Civil Services is contemplated. Also, those who have registered for the examination but could not make it to the examination, their attempting the exam will not be considered. The age limit for the General Category is 32 years. But this does not indicate their entitlement to the number of attempts for the exam.

Minimum age qualification 

Any degree

  1. any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.
  2. or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament.
  3. or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
  4. or possess an equivalent qualification.

The minimum age for UPSC IAS Examination 

The minimum age that the aspirants need to acquire is 21 years. In other words, for appearing in the UPSC IAS Examination, they need to be 21 years on the first of August. If they have decided on UPSC 2019 Exams, then they will require being attaining 21 of age on first August 2019.-
